Species Details

Marsh Speedwell is a very rare native perennial of ponds and streamsides, marshes and ditches. It is currently recorded from throughout the county, from Laneside Farm (SK0283) in the north through Bradley Nook Farm (SK2347) to Witches Oak Water (SK4329) in the south, except for the limestone areas. Older records cover a similar area with the occasional record on the limestone as at Chee Dale (SK17) in the White Peak. Nationally it has much declined in central England since 1970.

This plant is in Category 5b of the local Red Data List, 2009.
