Species Details

Sweet Violet is an occasional native perennial of woods, scrub and hedgerows particularly on base-rich soils. It is also often a garden escape on verges and waysides such that its native distribution is now impossible to discern. It grows throughout our area except for the high moors of the north-west. It sometimes occurs as the white-flowered form.
