Species Details

Common Dog-violet is a common native perennial throughout Derbyshire, growing in woods, hedges and moors, where it can be abundant in places. It can also become a serious weed of gardens and lawns. Two subspecies have been recorded, the common and widespread form is subspecies Xxriviniana, while Xxminor has been previously noted from a few isolated localities {Alkmonton SK1838}.
