Species Details

Lesser Water-parsnip is a native perennial that grows in or by the margins of ditches, canals and rivers. This emergent species occurs rarely, scattered throughout Derbyshire and avoiding only the South West and Dark Peak areas {Cressbrook Dale SK1773; Bradford Dale SK2063; River Poulter SK5270; Whatstandwell SK3354, Forbes Hole Pond SK4932}. Apparently it has been lost locally from some sites, probably due to habitat destruction or pollution.
