Species Details

Yellow-wort is an attractive native annual of dry stony, often disturbed, areas of grassland, waste places and disused quarries. Records are almost confined to the Magnesian Limestone where it is occasional {Pleasley SK4863; Bolsover Moor SK5077, Steetley Quarry SK5478}. Elsewhere it is very rare and only occurs at isolated sites {Heeley Sidings SK3484 ,now modern S.Yorks; Cawdor Quarry SK2860; Drakelow Reserve SK2220, Stanton Ironworks SK4739}.
