Species Details

Hard Fern is an evergreen native perennial of woods heaths moors and rocky slopes on acidic substrates. It is common in the Dark and South West Peak areas (Long Clough SK0392, Alport Castles SK1491 & North Lees SK2383). It is occasional in the Peak Fringe (Peat Pits SK3252 & Dobb’s Hill Plantation SK3842) but very rare elsewhere (Spring Wood SK3722).
