Species Details

Cabbage is a rare casual perennial of waste ground, verges and abandoned cultivations. It has been recorded throughout our area from Dam Dale (SK1178) and Unstone (SK37T) in the north to Bradley Old Park (SK24L) and Spondon (SK3935) in the south. It occurs as several cultivated varieties each of which is a distinct crop, these include Cabbage, Kale, Cauliflower and Brussels-sprouts Xxinter alia. The native variety occurs on sea-cliffs around southern Britain and is a Nationally Scarce plant.
