Species Details

Greater Quaking Grass is a very rare casual annual of cultivated ground, waysides and waste places. It is recorded scattered over the northern and eastern parts of our area as at Jodrell Road (SK0181 v.c.58), Bradway (SK3280), Eckington (SK4379) and Leabrooks (SK4253). Previously it was also recorded from Derby (SK3338) in 1976. It is usually an escape from gardens where it is grown for ornament. It is indigenous to the Mediterranean region.
