Species Details

Meadow Brome is a very rare casual annual of agricultural grasslands where it is introduced as a contaminant of seed mixes. The sole recent record is from Stancliffe Hall (SK2663). Previously it was recorded from waste ground and damp meadows in the south of our area where it may have been native (Clifton Goods-yard SK1644 in 1969, and Hilton SK23 and Ticknall SK32 both for 1903). It is considered native in central and southern England.
