Species Details

Thorow-wax is a very rare casual annual of gardens and arable land. There are no recent records, the latest being for Little Chester (SK3537) and Brackenfield (SK3658) in 1969. There was an earlier record for Dale Road (SK4036) in 1967, and one for Hanging Bridge (SK1545) in 1944. These records probably resulted from the use of birdseed or the contamination of imported agricultural seeds. It is a native of continental Europe.
