Species Details

Box is a newly established, evergreen shrub or small tree of parks hedges and woods. It is often planted for ornament and sometimes naturalised. It has been recorded scattered throughout our area from Losehill Hall (SK1583) in the north, through Slinter Wood (SK2857) and Norbury (SK1242), to Calke Park (SK3623) in the south. It is indigenous to southern England.
