Species Details

Dioecious sedge is a very rare, native perennial of base-rich mires and flushes. The only modern record for the county is from Whitwell Wood (SK5278). It was previously known at a few other sites in central and northern Derbyshire, such as Hulland Moss (SK2546), from where a specimen is kept at Derby Museum.

This plant is in Category 5a of the local Red Data List, 2009.
