Species Details

False Fox-sedge is a tufted native perennial of wet grasslands on the sides of ditches, streams, canals and ponds usually on heavy non-peaty soils. Although seen occasionally in lowland Derbyshire {Drakelow Power Station SK2219; Cromford Canal SK3452, Brearley Park SK3974}, it is much rarer in the White Peak ({Miller’s Dale SK1573} and Dark Peak {Padfield SK0396}.
