Species Details

Greater Tussock-sedge is an occasional native perennial of fens, swamps and carrs. While usually avoiding limestone areas, it prefers peaty soils flushed with rather base-rich water. It is only found in scattered locations across the county, although where it does grow, it can form considerable stands {Torside Reservoir SK0799; Snake Plantation SK1091; Bradley Brook Marsh SK2343, Mere Pond SK3622}.
