Species Details

Great Pond-sedge is a rhizomatous native perennial that forms stands on the margins of ponds, canals and streams, but can also grow in wet woods. Although virtually absent from the South West and Dark Peak, it occurs occasionally elsewhere from Thornbridge Meadows (SK1970) in the north to Drakelow Power Station (SK2219) and the River Mease (SK2711) in the south.
