Species Details

Dark-green Mouse-ear is a very rare established annual of dry grassland and road verges, and is a native of British coastal areas. There are only four recent records: Lathkill Dale (SK1865); Shirley (SK24A); Northwood (SK2664) and Ticknall (SK3523). Nationally it has shown a recent increase along inland salt-treated roads (Preston Xxet al. 2002). This may explain its appearance in Derbyshire only after 1970.
