Species Details

Ground-elder is an anciently established perennial of cultivated ground and waste places. It is common throughout our area except for the high moors of the Dark Peak. It typically occurs near habitations where it is a pernicious weed of gardens, though it was originally introduced as a culinary and medicinal herb. It grows naturally in central Europe.
