Species Details

Snow-in-summer is an established mat-forming perennial, frequently found in central Derbyshire on roadsides, waste ground and tips {Hadfield SK0296; Topley Pike SK1172; Hatton SK2130, Matlock Bath SK2958}. This native of Italy is a common garden plant and often escapes or is thrown out, and can persist for many years {ballast at Long Eaton SK4934}. The apparent local and national increase may be a result of botanist's increasing desire to record alien species.
