Species Details
Common Calamint is a very rare, native perennial of dry banks,disturbed ground and rough grassland on calcareous soils. It has only been seen recently at Mickleover (SK3035), Long Eaton (SK4933), Pleasley Park (SK56) and Creswell (SK5173). A specimen from the last location is kept at Derby Museum.This species was formerly scattered more frequently through eastern and central Derbyshire.
This plant is in Category 5b of the local Red Data List, 2009.
