Species Details

Rough Hawk’s-beard is a casual biennial of rough grassy places, waste ground and wood margins. It is recorded very rarely throughout our area, from Blackwell Mill (SK1172) and the Gleadless Valley (SK3782) in the north, through Larkhill (SK4053), to between Catton and Walton-on-Trent (SK2016) in the south. It is often introduced with grass seed, though it may also be native as it occurs naturally further south in central England.
