Species Details

Wood Stitchwort is a very rare native perennial of damp woods and shady streamsides. It grows scattered across the county (e.g. Roman Lakes SJ9687; Cales Dale SK16S; Bottoms Wood SK2750 and Clattercotes & Coalpit Woods SK3660). Our plant is subspecies Xxnemorum. Nationally it is found in upland Britain, with Derbyshire towards the south-eastern limit of its distribution.
