Species Details

Marsh Hawk’s-beard is a native perennial of wet rocky woods, streamsides, marshes and flushes. It is occasional in the Dark Peak, as at Arnfield (SK0098 v.c.58), Linch Clough (SK1694) and Shatton (SK1880). Elsewhere it only grows at Grin Low (SK0472) and Hodgelane Brook (SK3364). Previously it was also found in the south of our area, for example at Shirley Wood (SK2141) in 1969, and in Brewards Carr (SK3044) in 1976. Nationally it is a northern species on its south-eastern limit with us.
