Species Details

The discovery of Alpine Lady’s-mantle in Coombs Dale (SK2274) in 1971 caused great interest locally (Band 1972). However this was short-lived as it was soon found that it had been planted to photograph in a more natural setting (Band 1975). Two later records from Cawdor Quarry (SK2860) and Derby (SK33) are probably errors for garden throwouts of Silver Lady’s-mantle (XXA. conjuncta). It is a native perennial of northern England and Scotland.
