Species Details

This gentian is now a very rare, native annual or biennial of unimproved grasslands. There are only three modern records, all from the White Peak: Brand Top (SK0468); High Rake (SK17), and Sir William Hill (SK2177). It was formerly recorded scattered over a wider area of the county from Glossop (SK09) in the Dark Peak to Repton Shrubs (SK32) in the Trent Valley. Nationally it is a northern species on the southern edge of its range in Derbyshire.

This plant is in Category 2 of the local Red Data List, 2009.
