Species Details

Stream Water-crowfoot is a rare native plant of fast flowing rivers with nutrient rich water, where it typically grows as long waving submerged streamers of green leaves and stems. It has been recorded mainly from the Rivers Dove (SK1646), Wye (SK1769) and Derwent (SK3354). Previously it was also recorded from ????? SK24 and ???? SK47. All local records at the subspecies level refer to subspecies XXpseudofluitans. Crowfoots of open water habitats are particularly difficult to separate from each other and so this species is probably under-recorded. Nationally it is a species of Conservation Concern. (What Conservation Concern means will need to be explained in the introduction to the individual accounts. I suggest a combined map here of the species and subspecies).
